Americanadiana part two. Raccoon//on the edge of glory
Earth day: Keegan and I put aside our normal digital selves, and went out to experience her full glory. Biking up hills, walking through forests, standing in breathless awe at the eternal ocean, am radio chattering about the state of our public schools. what’s for dessert? collaging Americanadiana.
vampires, into the light!
Lately, as a couples project, Keegan and I have been getting freaked out about living in tsunami central. Earthquake warnings all up and down the coast. HAARP clouds hovering ominously overhead. I am in the process of converting us to the Preppers lifestyle. Keegan has taken to digitizing our most precious photos and documents over lunch.
Hence the appearance of this wondrous image, taken at Teotihuacan on my old film point and shoot which Caitlin and I dragged around with us (and 6 rolls of film!) on our magical trip throughout Central America + Mexico, back in the day. Three shots, stitched together here in all their panoramic glory. Visions of the future, reflected in the past.

thats me and you in the middle // we had caitlin run up to take the photo // then i “men in black” mind erased both of you // i’m the time traveler’s babeo
this makes my heart break.

Stumbled across this video made by the talented Chris Zabriskie. When I went to Disneyworld with my family (around the same time that this video was shot) we didn’t have a camera to capture it. But if we did, I know that my sisters and I would have watched that video a million times, just like Chris has watched his.
Nostalgic memory/how powerful your pull/how powerful your longing.
Just enough room for you and me.
